Purchasing GW Gold
I just saw a guy selling gold for real cash in Ascalon today.
Is it real or just a scam? If it is real purchasing, would you get banned for buying? If people do, what are the chances? Thanks |

I would imagine some of those are scams and some are real. It is a bannable offense too, so I wouldn't recommend buying gold. I have no idea on the chances though.

It's against the EULA, don't but. Not only you aren't supposed to but it pisses the people who earned their gold honestly. And anet is watching as well as other players who will report any sellers or buyers they come across.

It's real, no doubt there--you definitely can purchase gold for real money--but as stated, it's fully against Anet's user agreement, and you would quite likely have your account banned for doing so.

Real, yep,
Legal?Nope Do it and more than likely anet will hunt you down and give ya a ban. They have logs that prove it.

Yeah, he can just think of those three days as vacation off from farming.
That's sad. |

If you are the one selling it, you're probably looking at a ban. If you are the on buying it, you'll get nailed for a few days, unless they've shorten/lengthened the amount of time.
That's assuming you get caught. That isn't to say, go do it. But if you don't get caught, you don't get caught. Just remember Anet can see your chat and trade logs. |

About the ban since when do they ban 3 days what is you source of information.
i thought that is whas a perm ban for gold buying/sellin. iff they ban 3 days only that would explain the sudden increase of wealty players. |

I don't like people who buy gold. They wreck our economy, but that's a diffrent matter. I think that people should be banned on the spot if found receiving large sums of gold for nothing in return, as that...really really rarely happens.
And by large, I mean in excess of 700k+ |

They have chat/trade logs they can look it al up iff they want. But iff you only get a 3 day ban than the games wil de dead very soon. And players see that 3 day ban as 3 days off for farming as some chap said before in this thread The way that those players act is just that they don't show respect for the game. Yes i admit it's just a game but come on play fair. PS iff the word comes out that you REALY REALY REALY get a 3 day ban. it's over with GW than it would be best te sell gold in the ingame store. But when that happens im one off those people who will quit the game. Last edited by Sparda; Sep 22, 2007 at 02:34 PM // 14:34.. |

"Hey man, where were you?" "Oh, I was banned for 72 hours for buying gold" It isn't exactly a secret, it's just that not many people are willing to shell out real money for money in a game. Thankfully the model of what people are willing to spend money on for entertainment purposes still stack somewhat in anet's favor when it comes to buying ingame gold. Because of it's social taboo and you do get nailed when you are caught, a permanent ban seems rather silly for what could have been a momentarily lapse in judgment. |

Only losers buy gold on the net. Earn it yourself ingame. If you aren't capable of that, then just go ahead and uninstall the game now.
We had a kid in our guild who was constantly begging us for money. We'd loan him small amounts to help him get started, but he would just waste the gold we gave him on junk (like buying 50 Shing Jea keys). He saw a gold seller bot in town and thought "Wow! Way cool!!! I can finally get as much gold as I want!!!". We all told him not to buy gold from the bot, but didn't listen and bought anyways. We immediately kicked him from the guild. |

I have never known of anyone to be banned for buying gold. And I knew some massive gold buyers who spent like thousands on it.

Ok so i believe that you can get a 3 day ban for it.
I'm disapointed in Anet. i'll count down the days till we can buy gold in the online store. hell yeah even the day we can buy tormented weapons in the online store. So that means the gold sellers win they did something they are good in screwing the game. Sorry about that but im just a real carebare iff it's about games. Specialy GW |
